Sanlam Cancer Challenge

The Sanlam Cancer Challenge is the biggest amateur golf tournament in Africa and is run as a collaborative partnership between CANSA, Sanlam and golf unions and clubs.

The tournament boasts more participants than the Comrades Marathon or the Argus Cycle Tour and has raised over R24-million for CANSA regions over eighteen years. Last year alone more than 34 000 golfers at 444 golf clubs raised R2.7 million for CANSA regions to provide a unique integrated service to their local communities.

Regional competitions are hosted from March to June 2010, with the finalists qualifying for the Sanlam Cancer Challenge final to be held 25 and 26 October 2010 at the Gary Player Country Club in Sun City near Rustenburg, North West.

Visit the Sanlam Cancer Challenge website for more information.

CANSA is a community-driven and volunteer-based organisation that has been fighting cancer and helping to save lives for the past 77 years. Started in 1931 by a group of medical professionals concerned about the high incidence of cancer, CANSA has grown to become one of the leading cancer NGOs in the country with 45 offices around the country and more than 12 000 volunteers and 260 staff members.
